How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP4508273 / 131763302 Washer Door Strike

With a Phillips screwdriver. Very simple fix. I had to pay for overnight shipping. Our washer runs almost daily. 

Bought a new lock and put it in the door. But the door would not close and lock. I had to get a man who works on washers to remove the piece that broke off in the lock. Cost me $21.18 for the lock and shipping and $80.00 to remove the piece that broke off. 

I ordered a new door hinge and latch. Upon opening the casing to reveal the hinge - I realized that a 1/4 inch plastic tab had broken and not the hinge. However, I did install the new hinge after gluing the tab back into place (it centered the hinge and was a bad design). Once I placed the new hinge on the door - I filled in the hole surrounding the tab with hot melt glue - effectively acting as a shock absorber and a way to keep the hinge in position. Then put the door back on the mount. 

I followed the instructions given, had it fixed in five minutes.

Ordered the part from appliance parts pros. and receive it in five days. 

I found a video that showed the exact repair technique, it took one screwdriver and removal of 8 screws. very simple! I saved $260 doing the repair my self. 

Less than a minute- once I got the new part. Whoohoo. 

Replaced the broken parts by ordering the door lock assembly, along with the door switch. The video that shows how to replace it helps tremendously! 

Installed a new locking device.
