How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP4508273 / 131763302 Washer Door Strike

The hinge is probably worn a bit so the door sags a little bit. This is probably why the strike broke in the first place. The fix is about as easy as it gets. Remove two Phillips screws and put the new part on and put the screws back in. SO glad this repair is complete. But need to figure out how to deal with the sag that caused the strike to break in the first place... Paid $25.11 5/30/2022. Part was $12.50 and shipping was $11 

First I want to say it was easy to find parts using the machine's model number. Replacing the door strike was easy ten minutes. But in my case the switch/latch had to be removed to extract the broken bit of door strike. Fortunately, these guys had a video on removing the latch. I also found that removing the top from the washer (two screws in back) made it easier to reach down and reconnect plugs to the latch. Extracting the broken bit of door strike is difficult but worth the attempt since a new latch is expensive. 

I took it apart to see if I could figure out what was wrong with it. The panel was broken at some points so I figured I buy the replacement parts and fix it myself 

Ordered a new strike and installed it. Washer is working beautifully! 

I took a picture of the model number and entered it on my computer. A picture of the washer popped up along with a schematic. I quickly identified the door lock assembly and ordered the part. Three days later it arrived, I screwed it in and Voila! Problem solved. Great service! 

Unscrewed the old one and put on the new one. Really pleased this little old lady could do it herself. 

Ordered the part after watching a you tube video. 

Replaced door strike and removed broken piece from inside the lock piece. Although removing the broken piece was not that easy, I was able to complete the repair in about 15 minutes. 

Ordered a replacement latch and repair was easy. Just unscrewed the old, and attached the new. 

I was the easiest fix yet. Ordered the part through you and it came in a day. Was expecting a wait of 5 days. Then I was back in service.
