How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP4370047 / 297243800 Light Switch (Door-Activated)

I bought a new switch. 

Pulled the old switch out by hand......connected the white and blue wires.....then reinserted the switch. 

I looked up the part number in the handbook that came with the freezer and tried to find it on the Frigidaire website, but the part was no longer available from Frigidaire. However, the website had an ad for AppliancePartsPros.com. I was able to match the freezer model number, part number and the replacement part number on the website, so I ordered the part. I received it two days later, watched the helpful video on the APP.com website, and replaced the old switch successfully. The APP.com website shows a picture of the replacement part on a 1-inch grid so that you can see if it looks the old part, and will fit in the hole. The website also allows you to check that the part is compatible with the appliance. The price and shipping charge were very reasonable. What a great service!

Replaced light switch. 

5 min job unplugged freezer, took bottom cover off , opened door pushed old switch out pulled bayonet connectors off re installed on new switch pushed back in opening closed door plugged back in. Turns out this was a symptom that the digital control panel was partly bad. Had been a lighting hit in area problem. So ordered new board on Friday came on Sat pulled and replaced board. All back to normal. 

Popped the old front control board out. And pushed in the new one.
