How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP4368336 / 903136-9020 Surface Burner Infinite Switch

I am now retired but spent 30 years as an appliance repair tech. I knew what the difficulty was. I needed to replace both control switches. I researched with Sears, the original supplier of the range, only to find that Sears price was almost $100.00 each. I then resorted to the internet, found the switches I thought would be duplicates on Appliance Parts Pros.com. To be sure I chatted with a representative and she confirmed my selection. I ordered that night and received them within 3 working days. They were exact duplicates at $65.00 for both. Beat paying $200.00 to Sears. 

Once I figured out what the part was called I ordered it. It came the next day with standard shipping which really surprised me. Now for the tricky part, the part is not an exact replacement but on the back of the old one and the new one there were numbers by each terminal. The numbers were hard to read on the old one and the new one had extra numbers one through five for each of the terminals that I ignored and used the remaining numbers and just unplugged one connector at a time and plugged it in to the new one. Another thing I did was use a knob to turn the switch to the off position to make sure it would be turned the right way to work the same as the other knows. 

Obtained new switch. Installation instructions were basically: 1. Remove bad switch, 2. Replace with new switch. Instructions didn't mention how to get to the switch, which required removing half a dozen screws and four devices which really need a special tool (spanner wrench). Which screws needed to be removed were a challenge to find. The terminals were not in the same locations, so pay close attention to the labeling of the two switches when moving the connections.
