I had to remove my dryer so I could install a new floor. The dryer would not fit through the doorway with the power cord attached. Since the power cord was fastened to the back using 3 phillip headed screws, I gently backed them out with a phillip headed screwdriver. However, two of the 3 screws gave me extreme trouble. The head of the screws were made of such a weak metal, that the screw head began stripping. I have a phillip screw kit with different sized heads, so I picked a head that was slightly larger to back out the screw. No luck. So, I borrowed my dad’s screw extractor kit and used the two bits according to the instructions and that too failed. I had no choice but to cut the power cord and buy a new block (since the screws holding the old power cord terminals could not be removed). I bought the new block, shown here, and replaced the old one in a snap. The how-to video made it really easy for me to know how to strip/join the wires from new to old. I bought a new power cord as well. Now I’m back up and running :)
