How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2635055 / WB32X10013 8 Inch Drip Pan

Purchased new parts. I received my parts within two days from ordering, Great Service! 

Took the old one out and placed the new one. 

Replaced the 6" burner and the 8" in front and the drip pans on under all 4 elements. 

Purchased pans from a local store, they didn’t fit properly. Returned them and searched online with the manufacturer. Manufacturer doesn’t carry they BUT their site redirected me to you: PERFECT FIT upon arrival! ?? 

The last time this happened, I shotgunned all four burners (2-6" and 2-8") and drip pans as one failure is usually the "canary in the coal mine" of more failures. This time I was unable to get the genuine GE Calrod 8" burners from APP and was forced to buy some knock-offs from one of your competitors. The 6" burners were all I could get from APP along with the quality drip pans. Replacement of the burners is fairly easy with a 1/4" nut driver and pliers to hold the element contacts in place as the screw is tightened on the terminal. Cleaning of the cooktop under the burner locations takes as long as replacing the parts! I ohm'd out the defective 8" burner and it had almost twice the resistance of the remaining good working one. I kept the burners that still worked as spares and junked the bad ones. 

Turned off the breaker for the stove, Found the model number, removed and measured the old element as a check. Put the model number into AppliancePartsPros website and ordered the recommended replacement and a set of drip pans as the old ones were corroded. The parts arrived within two days which is very fast service. The replacement was quick and easy. Note having a flashlight helps and the new element connects to the wires using threaded screws, which were provided. 

Replaced heating element and also all drip pans. Drip pans were original 62 years old, heating element had been replaced once in the past. 

I replaced the dirty and rusty drip pans with new drip pans. 

I was able to order parts and now looks as good as new. 

Replaced all four burners and drip pans. Upgraded burners to the integrated ring on chassis type rather than the three point drop-in with separate ring. Drip pans were rusty-crusty so they went. These are better parts than were in the stove. 1/4" nut driver for all screws. Slip joint pliers to hold the connector ends while tightening so they don't bend. Small flat head screwdriver to pry off the spring clips on the ceramic insulation blocks and to pry loose the clips (that the burner mounting screw taps into) in the burner holes to replace them. Easy peasy but tedious work. Two 6" and Two 8". Now as good as a new stovetop for $300.00.
