How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP3965155 / WH43X10034 Washer Agitator Assembly

Some of the fins were broken on my agitator. I searched youtube for repair videos and that's how I found AppliancePartsPros. Their video was very well done and easy to understand, so I went to their site. I noticed they had a live chat link - so I clicked on that, gave them my model #, and immediately got connected with someone, even though it was early evening. I wanted to make sure I ordered the right part - that's why I wanted to talk to someone. Anyway, they gave me the part # - so I ordered it. I could not believe how fast it came. In my case, it wasn't an emergency, but if I need a part fast, I now know where to get it. I followed the video exactly, and sure enough, the agitator pulled off. But not without a few tries. The first pull didn't work. So I just kept at it. Persistence paid off. It took several attempts, but then finally popped off. The new part fit perfectly, and clicked in when I lined everything up - just like the video said. I was very impressed with how fast my ordered was processed - the communication they offered - the delivery - and especially all the information (repair videos, diagrams, photos, etc) about the specific part I wanted. 

Ordered part and received it. Pulled the broken part out and put the new one in. Took a total of 10 minutes from unpacking part to clean up. 

Watched a video on how to repair it , ordered it from you and replaced it . 

Purchased new agitator assembly, watched video on AppliancePartsPros website and completed the repair in less than five minutes 

Pulled old one out by grabbing underneath and popping out. Replaced with new one by lining up and pushing down until it snapped in. 

Watched the video. Pulled the agitator out and popped in the new one. I had watched the video prior to ordering the part and it made it seem so doable that I knew I could do it myself. It was just asas easy I had hoped it would be. And the part was $20 cheaper than ordering it through the manufacturer. 

I replaced the agitator. 

Easy fix with only your hands. Just put fingers under agitator and jerk it up. Watch your face when it pops off. New one slides back on easily and snaps back into place when fitted correctly.

This agitator is not the type that is fixed by replacing the dogs but has to be replaced as a unit. Used a full loop strong cord slipped through the slots in the agitator fins, threaded a 1.5" dowel under the cord loops, twisted the cord to take up the slack, and used the dowel as a lever on the side of the machine, protected by a towel, to pop the agitator off. With a little force the new agitator pushed onto the connector and popped into place. Part arrived in just two days with standard shipping!
