First I unplugged the washer. I then removed the front of the washer using a putty knife. The old belt was broken so removing it was not an issue.I vacuumed it out to remove the broken belt dust and pieces.I put the new belt on the large pulley first using a cable tie to hold it on.My first attempt failed with the belt slipping off the pulley. On my second attempt I used two cable ties on the pulley and it worked.I recommend wearing gloves, there are some sharp edges in there.
