How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP3968432 / WH01X10302 Drive Belt

I went online to apart and plants parts pros and looked at videos and learned how to take the front off the machine, lay it backwards and then change the belt using the belt replacement tool.it was a really easy project 

Replaced Shaft and Mode Shifter Assembly. Changed belt while the machine was apart. 

Replaced bearing, belt, and seal 

Had a hard time getting the tub not off but everything else went good I do have two things the belt was not the right size and the tub bearing I didn't need and will need to be returned both items but all is good I think you very much 

Replaced 

Remove front panel..place washer on its back...remove bottom to make it twice as easy..start belt on drive pulley and patrtially on the large tub pulley..fasten belt to large tub pulley with wire or snap ties and then just turn it on to larger tub pulley. Like putting a chain on a bicycle 

First I unplugged the washer. I then removed the front of the washer using a putty knife.The old belt was broken so removing it was not an issue.I vacuumed it out to remove the broken belt dust and pieces.I put the new belt on the large pulley first using a cable tie to hold it on.My first attempt failed with the belt slipping off the pulley. On my second attempt I used two cable ties on the pulley and it worked.I recommend wearing gloves,there are some sharp edges in there. 

Replaced timer assembly, very easy after viewing video on site. 

Replaced part 

I laid the washer over on it's side and removed the entire bottom panel for access. The belt fits very tightly and was difficult to get the new belt onto the large pulley. I used a couple of pry bars to stretch the belt far enough to get it onto the pulley.
