How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP7188100 / WR55X10942C Board Asm Main Control

Previously had replaced the thermo sensor on the coil since I thought it was staying stuck, allowing the heater to keep running. But after a Re-Google of the symptom, I found that the timer control programmed into the computer was the issue. Replaced...issue solved! 

Found the replacement part and watched the install video. Received the part in two days. Installed the part while watching the video. Refrigerator seems to be working fine. 

Replaced circuit board in freezer door and main circuit board in back of appliance 

Ordered parts form Appliance Pros , watched videos and resolved the problem, 

Found condenser fan not running, troubleshooting tips said change motor, did that, new fan still not running, next item in line for troubleshooting was replace main control board, did that everything works now. Checked old motor with new board, motor still not running, so I figured motor went bad and damaged board. 

I replaced it myself. No problem. Refrigerator is now working fine. 

Used multimeter to check compressor-ok, then tried to reset, then checked back of circuit board and there was a connection that was brown and solder was broken apart. repaired but only lasted a few days of good , cold air. Since refrig is a little old, gave it new life with a brand new control board. if that didn't work , I would have added a start relay. saved lots of money doing it myself.

I ordered a new mother board, water tank, and grille sensors because I broke three of the current ones that were there. I replaced all three items, and it's working as if it was brand new. The parts were exactly what I needed and they fit perfectly.
