How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP5789049 / WH12X20274 Electronic Control Board, Single Unit

It is 3 years old. I called the seller, they sent a tech a week later, he told me the control card was bad. They called me to say they didn't have it in stock, but they would order one and let me know when it arrives. Est. delivery time is 3-4 weeks. (seriously) I searched the internet for the card. Lots of suppliers, but Appliance parts pros was the cheapest. I ordered the card, it was received the next day. (3 different delivery options, I took the middle one) Popped the cover, swapped the card, and my machine is working again. Two days. I'll receive the quote from the seller in 3 more weeks. I'll be more than happy to let them know they are a little too slow. NOTE: GE has two models of the big washer/dryer combo. One is electronic, the other mechanical. Do yourself a big favor and go with the mechanical. Thanks to APP, BTW. Impressive service - easy to find, easy to order. 

After consulting with the friendly staff at AppliancePros we determined it was the control board. I ordered the part it arrived in 2 days 5 minutes to replace it and washer back in service. Thank you apliance parts pros... 

I ordered the main control board, watched a video and took a chance that a 62-year-old woman could handle this repair & I was successful! The only glitch was that it had a very small star-shaped screw holding the board to it's the bracket that I couldn't see until I took the whole bracket off which added a little time to the repair but all in all it was a very smooth repair. 

It was very easy to fix. 

I called a appliance repair company to fix my washing machine when they took it apart there was water in the control board area and they said I needed a new board control which would cost $356, but never addressed how the water was getting into the board control area. So I investigated and realized the funnel shower head was cracked and shooting water straight out instead of down into the tub. I found Appliance Parts Pros online and found the part I needed & watched a couple of their videos on how to take the washer apart. Ordered the shower head & board control because the service man said that is was bad. Got the parts delivered in 3 days! Installed the funnel shower head and my washing machine works perfectly. Appliance pros gave me (a 60 year old women) the confidence to tackle repairing my washer myself... and it works. Thank you & I love Appliance pros!
