This was an interesting repair. Emerson uses torx-head screws to limit access to the interior. Luckily, I had a screwdriver that fit these star-shaped heads! Once the cover/shield was removed it took a little time to figure out what I was looking for, but I found the light bulb and proceeded to remove the fitting. Going on AppliancePartsPro, I found what looked like it would work, but the model matching software indicated that it would not. The photo on the webpage looked exactly right, but the wattage was 5 units higher than the original bulb. I decided to take a chance. The part came, I took the microwave apart again and replaced the bulb and, wow! It's bright again! The increased wattage may affect the microwave's power, but probably not much. Since the unit is over 13 years old, I figure the microwave will probably fail due to something else. I appreciate that you show photos of your parts. Without that feature, I would not have been comfortable enough to try a part that was similar but not exactly the same. It fit perfectly and works fine! Probably last a long time, too!
