D.A. March 19, 2013 for Model Number JE1590cc GE states that the lamp cannot be replaced by a consumer, and that a service call is required. As this is covered under a policy, the appointment was made for Friday, 3 days from now. The person making the appointment recommended that I have the proper bulb on hand as the technicians frequently appear without the correct part. Is there a local source from which I can pick up the bulb? GE Parts was contacted and say they do not maintain such a listing - the area is Northern Virginia - Alexandria, Springfield, Arlington, Fairfax etc.
1 Answer Hello D.A. Sorry, AppliancePartsPros is an online company only, and we do not have any local stores. You will need to look in the yellow pages for a local retailer, or you can order from us online and we will send the part to you. Read More...

Raymond M February 08, 2012 for Model Number PEB1590DM2WW I ordered and just received a replacement lamp - part # AP2030108. I have removed the front part of the kit used when mounting this GE microwave in a wall opening. I have also removed the metal material that secures the microwave. Must I remove the microwave from the wall opening? Once that is done how do I change the lamp? I'm still having difficulty. Thanks
2 Answers Hi Raymond. In general, You will need to dismount the microwave from the wall above the range. Remove the outer cabinet(wrapper) by removing the screws around the back wall of the cabinet and the side panels in (some cases). Once you slide the cabinet back and off the frame, you should see the cavity light and socket attached to the cavity or air tunnel. Cavity Lamp Part # WB36X10131. Thank You. Read More...

2 Answers Raymond, Thanks for the update, You're correct, once you remove the trim kit, you'll need to slide the microwave out of the opening, and set it on a table or work surface. Remove the screws that attach the cabinet to the frame across the back and sides, and slide the cabinet off towards the back. You'll find the light socket assembly mounted to the plastic air duct on the right side of the cavity, remove the two screws attaching the socket to the duct and lift the assembly up and out. Reverse the procedure and you're done. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
