How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP3994965 / WH01X10310 Control Knob Assembly

Went fine, it took about 1 minute. 

Replaced the control knob assembly and timer dial. I didn’t realize the control knob assembly came with a timer knob clip so I purchased it but didn’t need it. The gears were stripped pretty bad on the control knob assembly and also on the timer. I will need to replace the timer or timer gears (if possible) at a later date. For now, it’s working much better. 

Followed simple instructions. Easy fix

I googled how to repair the knob. I found a video right away and it told me what I needed for her GE washing machine. It directed me to appliancepartspros.com. Put a new know on very simple repair 

Read about the same problem from other owners, watched repair video, ordered part. Replacement went smoothly following repair video. ordering was easy, shipping was speedy. Completely happy with entire process and transaction. 

Pulled off the clip holding the old knob in place with needlenose pliers and put the new one in (a new clip is provided with the new knob) and inserted the clip to hold it in place. Works great!
