How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP3994965 / WH01X10310 Control Knob Assembly

Removed pin which holds the control knob with a paper clip. Aligned new control knob over metal pin and slid into place. Very easy repair. 

New knob and glued timer to back of panel.

Pulled the plastic pin and replaced the knob. Luckily, the new knob came with a new pin because the old one popped off and away when I was pulling it off ;-)) 

Replaced both knobs and then the washing machine was up and running again. That easy, and look at the money I saved by not paying a service call. 

Removed the retaining clip from behind the old knob and removed it, then pushed the new knob and retaining clip onto the shaft and snapped it into place. 

A bit of internet research, which included watching two videos and then I order the parts. I ordered an extraneous Timer Knob Clip. But all told it was less than $20 including shipping and it took me less than fifteen minutes to do it all. 

Removed retainer clip and replaced with part ordered from your website. Shipping was quicker than expected, which was a bonus. Fitted it in 30 seconds....all for $10 including shipping. 

I watched the video on the site here, unclipped the clip behind the knob, and replaced the knob. It worked like a charm, spent less than 2 minutes exchanging the knob. I used a needle nose pliers. One thing I didn’t like though was the shipping. I ordered my product on a Monday a little after noon, approximately 1 pm. The site clearly stated that ground shipments would ship that very day, and that a average delivery time of a ground shipment was 1.7 days. So that would have been fantastic, unfortunately for me I didn’t realize that when they say ships today what they really mean is create a ticket for shipment. Yes technically that starts the ball rolling, but my part sat in that state for 2 full days, and I didn’t get my part until Saturday. Which actually wouldn’t have been a big deal at all if they would have just been honest and upfront from the beginning. I ended up using a vise grip to turn my washer selector, which did the job, so other than the shipping it’s been a fine experience. 

I purchases the clip, knob,and a few other parts there is something else wrong but I got it to work temporally great customer service. I would recommend to my friends and family.
