First, we turned the power off to the stove by flipping the correct breaker in the breaker box. Then we took out two small screws in front just above the oven door which allowed us to tilt the ceramic stovetop up to access the element. While my partner held it up, I removed six wires and two clips that held the element in place. Then we put the new element in place with the two metal clips and reattached the six wires and put the ceramic top down and secured it with the two screws. Then turned the power back on and the burner worked correctly. It took two people about fifteen minutes total.
