How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2065355 / WR17X3095 Ice Funnel

The ice funnel and deflector had deteriorated and were flaking off pieces. (20 years old) the parts purchased were exact fit and the instructions were complete.total replacement time 30 minutes. 

Frost inside the freezer from outside air coming in through the dispenser door. Also, black particles on the ice, sometimes in water. So, I watched the videos on Appliance Parts Pros website, ordered up the parts, and installed them. Completely fixed the problem, with no hangups or issues. Saved a service call and markup on the parts and it only took about an hour. The videos were incredibly accurate and helpful. 

I fixed the drip with a bit of silicone. I fixed the rusty parts Auger & End Plate by replacing them. I repaired the dispenser by replacing the defective door. I used the various videos connected with the parts ( including related parts that I did not replace but required removing them first) to learn and confirm how to properly remove and replace the parts. These were incredibly valuable, Thank You! 

Installed new ice door assembly, ice deflector and ice funnel. Ordered new solenoid but did not need it and door recess spring had hook on wrong side so returned spring and solenoid. Repair video was great and very helpful will order parts for appliances again if needed. 

Removed ice and water dispenser. .Replaced previously ordered door recess assembly and found that the ice funnel and ice deflector were warped. Ordered and replaced the same. 

Replaced solenoid and ice door assemblies as well as the ice funnel. Thoroughly cleaned remaining parts related to the ice chute.
