How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP5796165 / WR24X20456 Refrigerator Door Gasket

Followed the video attached to the new gasket I bought form Appliance Parts Pros. 

Simple removal of the old gasket that peels right off. Straightened out the new gasket after it was removed from the package. It was folded in half to fit the box. Carefully slide gasket into gasket slot, take your time and make sure you have a good tight seal all the way around. 

Replace seal.

I highly recommend watching the installation videos! Especially the part about using a heat gun or hair dryer. BIG HELP! Otherwise was pretty straight forward! Make sure to allow the seals to “seat” by setting overnight. The replacement took only a few minutes. It was using heat to prep the new gaskets, and heat once installed that took the most time. 

Install it easily. 

Looked it up on the internet and found this company's video and parts. It took literally 5 minutes to do and the refrigerator is fixed. Thank you so much for this video and this company. 

Replacing the gasket was the easiest replacement job I have ever done. 

Ordered a door gasket. 

First I clamped the two doors shut. Checked the temp the next day, it went from 6 deg to -3. So I knew it wasn't the thermisters going bad. Ordered new seals and had to re-seat them a couple times because they were deformed in the box. So I had to wait for them to reform themselves. After two days of checking on it, everything is back to normal.
