How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP5646325 / WB07X11385 Grille Asm, Ss

I ordered the part from the diagram. Item arrived quickly, unfortunately it was damaged. I called APP and spoke with a nice young lady that offered to send me a replacement out right away. New part arrived a couple of days later and was in great shape! I have ordered from APP in the past and will continue to go to them whenever I need an appliance part. 

Dropped unit about six inches by support bolts (cabinet access) and replaced socket light assembly, replaced stovetop bulbs, replaced motorized vent grill. Replaced interior light bulb. I think it defies common sense but you have to drop the unit from its moorings to replace the interior bulb. Owner's manual says it is a two-man job, which compounds this engineering debacle. Actually you can lower it rather than completely deinstall. I had also not been able to replace the stovetop bulbs, which are accessible (with difficulty) by removing the lens from below so I checked the light assembly sockets, which had obviously been damaged during first install. After replacing assembly bulbs seated easily. The halogen bulbs must be seated with care so as not to damage the assembly socket. Actually quite easy when taken one step at a time. 

Part was easily ordered from blow up diagram. Part was delivered in less than 48 hours. Easily replaced. All is well 

Ordered replacement unit , arrived in 2 days, only issue, arrived with only 1 captive nut (1 more than my original GE installation !). 5 minute installation. 

Ordered the replacement grille assembly.. Part was verified with an operator. 

Ordered from AppliancePartsPros.com. The only tool I used was a cleaning rag and Weiman CookTop cleaner to clean residue from the Microwave. 

Replaced the vent grill. 

Ordered and replaced Grille Assembly. Install went well. 

Found this site on line, they made it very easy order and it arrived in few days. Package was in good shape. Hardest thing was to lower microwave a few inches to get to the two top screws. 

I removed the old vent (two screws). Looked at the new vent piece to examine how it clipped in. Tabs along the bottom had broken on the old one so it required sliding the unit in to get the tabs to engage. However the screw slipped on the top move as you slide it in and as one should have expected, one fell down into no man's land. Fastened the top with larger screws and all is well.
