How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP4355961 / WD13X10045 Handle Actuator

Ordered handle actuator and found out ours had one of the end prongs broken off. All good. 

Used the parts and a youtube video to fix the door. Works perfectly and I saved over $200!

Took the door apart and put the new actuator and spring in place.

The installation of the new actuator was pretty straightforward, as the video depicted, except there was a spring loaded plunger that sits under a gray cover that had to be removed. When I pulled the gray cover off, the plunger shot out due to the spring. The diagram doesn't really help you to determine how it goes back together and that was a real pain in the butt. Once I figured out how the spring loaded plunger fit between the 2 switches, it was a very easy repair. Just don't lose the spring. It'd be nice if the video actually used the model number dishwasher I have.
