Picture this: Thanksgiving morning, 6am. Go to heat up the oven for our big Tom Turkey and nothing. We have had this stove since it came out - at least 15 years and never a problem. This day of all days it decides to act up. I WILL say, that I did a 'self clean' the day before - many people say how hard this is on your oven so it may have sent it over the edge.
After googling to my heart's content, the information I found on Appliance Parts Pros confirmed my assumptions. The video showed how relatively easy it would be also. So, we put the turkey in the pan and put it on the grill to roast instead. It worked surprisingly well!!!
We ordered the part plus 2 screws a couple days later. Once it arrived and we got to work, everyone's comment about the screws either breaking off or stripping were soon realized. This is why I bought the 2 extra screws. Getting those suckers out took us an extra 2 hours. Needless to say, oven is working like a charm. Thanks to you guys, we saved hundreds of dollars and a lot of attitude from our local repair guy :) Side note: even if you buy the part but don't want to do the work, do it. Several repair outfits wont do it because "they cant guarantee the part" which translates into they cant jack up the price.
