How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP5646395 / WH12X10531 Washer Lid Switch Assembly

Replaced switch 

I bought a Lid switch from Appliance Direct, looked at their video and shazaam, the machine was back in working condition. Appliance Direct Pros are the best in the business. 

Did some work online research into the probable cause, which seemed to be a magnetic lid switch, which I order from Appliance Part Pros... Installed the switch and voila’... Switch was exactly like original, so it fit perfectly. Very happy with outcome! 

Replaced lid switch 

Replase the pressure switch and i decide 2 change the lid switch assembly 

Went online and found a sequence of tasks to reset motor and that did not always work. Went online again and found that if could be caused by the lid switch malfunctioning. I found AppliancePartsPros and ordered the part. The website showed exactly how to install and what tools were required. It took me approximately 20 minutes to install and the washer is running great! 

Ordered part and had the sensor installed within a few minutes 

I replaced the lid switch with the original replacement part. 

I installed a new GE lid switch that I purchased from AppliancePartsPros.com and everything is working as it should now. 

After researching and breaking down the washing machine. I called and spoke to a representative at AppliancePartsPros.com. Several options were given to me so I ordered several parts. This was my 1st DIY for an appliance repair but since it was not working anyway, I did not feel I could make it any worse. Received the parts about 7-8 business days after ordering and using the repair videos removed the Lid Switch Assembly (very easy) and put the new one in. It worked! I was so excited my washing machine was working. It had taken less than 30 minutes to repair and cost less than $35 in parts and shipping costs. I will return the other 2 parts I did not need to use.
