Albany Landlord September 10, 2021 for Model Number WDSR2120J5WW The washer will fill and agitate but will not spin or drain. The lid switch tests out as working and I have the same symptoms when the lid switch is bypassed.
1 Answer Albany Landlord, Thanks for the question!!! The washer must drain the water before it will spin. Place the washer on spin, then check the connections on the drain pump for 120vac. If no voltage you may have a control problem. If there is voltage then the drain pump is faulty. Check on your machine for a tech sheet. This can help direct you in additional troubleshooting that may be needed. Read More...
Rusty April 08, 2021 https://www.appliancepartspros.com/ge-control-board-asm-wh12x10355-ap3995160.html I was looking at the board above as a possible solution. I have a GE front loader. It will wash through about half the cycle but wont get into the drain and spin portion. It stops. It also locks and unlocks kind of randomly. Interesting enough, when i stop it and put it on "drain and spin" mode, it will run that cycle all the way through without a problem.
1 Answer Rusty, if the model number of your appliance could be provided in a new question, this will allow the most accurate information to be presented. Read More...
C May 07, 2014 for Model Number WDSR2120J5WW GE washer wdsr2120j5ww would not spin changed timer & lid sw. Still no spin. Jumped out lid sw. Same results. Tubing to level sw. Partially clogged cleared tubing. Removed jumper reinstalled lid sw. And spin cycle ok. Also opened and closed lid 6 times to reset circuit. What is your opinion?
1 Answer Hello C., This sounds like a bad connection. You can try electrical cleaner on the connections and then some white lube. The cleaner will remove corrosion and the white lube will prevent it from returning by repelling moisture. Read More...
Jerry April 09, 2014 for Model Number gtwn3000mows GE machine will not spin or agitate. We have replaced the timer, any suggestions on what to check? Could it be the lid switch?
1 Answer Hello Jerry. Test the lid switch and see if it is making up. If not, replace the lid switch. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Sandy March 30, 2014 for Model Number WJSR4160DAWW Doing a load of wash, washer filled up, agitated, pumped out the water, and stopped. It would not go into the rinse cycle. Then I could not get washer to do anything. Tried the next day noticed the bottom part of the knob which has an arrow on it did not turn with the top part of the knob. Finally moved it by hand and washer again filled, agitated, pumped out the water and would not go in the rinse cycle. Is that a knob problem or control problem which on your diagram is part 100?
1 Answer Hello Sandy, You need to remove the knob WH01X10310 and see if the gear like teeth on it are stripped or if the teeth in the timer are stripped. In some cases, the knob has to be replaced and in others, the timer WH12X10297 has to be replaced. Very seldom, both the knob and the timer has to be replaced. This cannot be determined until you check to see which part is damaged. Read More...
Louis March 08, 2014 for Model Number WDSR2080G3WW My washer fills with water but won't wash or spin I can turn the control knob and let the water out it hums like the capacitor or that hood switch is gone bad i just ordered both any other suggestions.
1 Answer Louis, With the unit does not spin or agitate then you will want to check the lid switch on the unit. If the lid switch is faulty it will cause the unit to not spin or agitate and will not send power to the motor. Because the pump is on a separate circuit it will still drain without spinning. 1 Answer Hello Rodney. On this model, you need to check and see if the unit is draining properly. If so, blow through the pressure hose and see if the air dome is clogged on the side of the tub. If so, blow it out. If it is good, and the hose is good, you may have a bad pressure switch on the unit. Read More...
Jduluth November 30, 2013 for Model Number whdsr109j8ww Hello, ge top load washer wont spin. The machine goes thru wash cycle, drains most of the water, but wont spin the clothes. I pulled hose off pump, some water was in hose and a small amount in washer (couple cups of water) no obstructions, the pump hums. Belt is on motor, but no action. I was wondering what to check next, I asasume pump is working as it drained most all water from tub, was thinking water level switch bad? Please advise, thank you!
1 Answer Hello Jduluth. You need to check the pump. If it is humming, but not draining the water, there is either a clog or the pump is bad on the unit. Read More...
