How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP3868882 / WD22X10048 Middle Spray Arm

After some investigation, I found that the sump inlet tube for the fine particle screen had deteriorated, and in addition, the sump was coated in a white chalk like substance that kept breaking off and clogging the spray arms. I had used tweezers to try and clean the holes in the spray arms, but it would only last for maybe 2 washes. I ordered a new sump and middle and lower spray arms, and watched the video on how to replace the sump. Not too difficult if you have a small amount of mechanical ability. After the new parts were installed, dishwasher works like new. Most likely saved hundreds in repair fees. 

I ordered a replacement middle spray arm and lower spray arm and replaced the old parts. Dishwasher is cleaning much better now.

My dishwasher over time stopped cleaning dishes and cups well. I thought running a cleaning agent through it would resolve the issue and that did not work. We used some home remedies that others have tried and that didn't work.. instead of junking a 5 year old dishwasher I went to appliance parts pros and found replacement parts for the guts of the dishwasher that included all new sprayers bottom, middle and top as well as new trays for top and bottom and on my first run we realized our dishwasher was new again... Thank you appliance parts pros it could not of been any easier and you saved me from buying a replacement 1800.00 dishwasher... One final note the replacement trays are better quality than the originals... 

This was a real success story. My washer arms, over the last 10 years, had gotten clogged with food and hard water deposits. The videos on the site helped me choose the right parts, pre-order. I then ordered, and had the parts within 4 days (it was a holiday weekend, so it took a little longer). I had them installed, once again following the videos, within 15 minutes. My dishwasher works like new now. Even better - I was able to clean two of the parts and NOT replace them, so I didn't have to order them. Great job.

Replace with new Spray are 

Replaced the lower and middle spray arm. It was very easy. Tools weren't necessary to remove the lower spay arm - I just followed the video you had on your site. The middle spay arm was removed with just a 1/4" nut driver. 

Ordered new spray arm 

Inlet valve failure not allowing tub to fill over time left soap buildup in main conduit and spinners. Soap was too hard to remove so replacement parts solved the problem
