How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP7220294 / WR02X45206 Mwf Manifold

Ordered a part from AppliancePartsPros.com. The came in quickly and fit perfectly. 

We have really bad city water that ruins everything it touches. We got to where the water pressure coming out of the dispenser on the fridge took about a minute to fill a glass. Removing the filter and installing the by-pass made it worse. Replaced the manifold (water line to filter, filter mount, and water line to ice/door) and full flow was restored. 

I installed the new manifold or filter assembly whatever you want to call it and problem solved. There is a small plastic plunger that pushes up when filter is installed to allow water to flow through filter. That plunger assembly is the culprit. 

Replaced manifold. 

Replaced the MWF manifold (the piece the water filter connects to). Turns out my manifold had a broken valve which not only reduced the water pressure, but didn't prevent the water from flowing to the filter even if the filter wasn't there. Using the Appliance Parts Pro site - ordered the part and then watched the video on how to replace it - it was a very good video and outlined all the things you would need and went thru the task simply and effectively - which made the replacement process go very smoothly. Price of the part was also very similar to other places online. 

Replaced the water filter manifold 

I fixed this by purchasing the new part and following the instructions in the video that AppliancePartsPros.com posted for it. Love the dedication they show to providing the right type of content and information for the customer 

The part was ordered from AppliancePartsPros.com and they had a video on how to change. Went very smoothly. Part works great!!! No more banging sound. 

I thought it was the water valve itself. Called AplpiancePartsPros.com and spoke with the technician on the phone! He knew from the sound that it was the water filter hose and filter housing! Ordered a new one! Got the part in about 3 days. Then I watched the video online about how to change the part and it took about 20 minutes to change! 

I replaced the manifold with the one I bought. Finding the replacement part was easy using the online parts diagrams for my fridge. Once it came the repair is simple. The hoses and connections come already attached to the manifold. I had to remove two cover plates on the back and a cosmetic snap in cover inside. I removed the old hoses from the water supply and the internal plumbing connector. After that the manifold comes out by removing two screws. Put in the new manifold and replaced the screws. Connected the two hoses to supply and internal plumbing. Turned on the water and tested. Worked like a charm. Then I replaced the back plates and the snap on cover and it was done.
