I replaced the element. It wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. I expected to remove the 2 screws, disconnect the wires from the burned out element, connect the new one and replace the screws. The wires are very short though, and one of them sprung back into the insulation behind the element and I couldn't retrieve it. To avoid this, have a friend hold them, tie something to them, or reconnect them to the new element without letting go of the darn things. If you lose them, it's not the end of the world though. Just remove the tall rectangular plate on the back of the oven. The wires are easy to find. You can then push them through and have someone grab them from the inside of the oven.
