There are two screws on the inside of the door, that hold the caps on. When you get those out (T-15 Torx bit) and separate the inside of the door, you will find 1/4" hex head screws also, and the part of the end caps they go into will probably be broken off. The metal on the outside of the door will probably be bent out just a bit where the long screws go in. Tap them straight. There are a couple of pieces of bent sheet metal, one on each of the long screws, to preserve the thickness of the door. Don't lose them.
Put it all back where you found it, with new end caps. Put one end cap on just with the 1/4" screw, then slip the handle inside it before installing the other cap.Be sure to tighten the 1/4" hex screws before you put the rest back, because after you get the door together they will be hidden. Be sure to get the top of the inside panel inside the outer panel. If you have done this right, everything should fit tight and snug and look like new.
This is a lot easier than I made it sound.
