How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP3202322 / WB13T10045 Oven Igniter Assembly

The repair took me less them 1/2 hour to complete.. It most likely would have been 15min but the screw was so stripped i had to cut it out. 

This is the second time this has happened so after a little "Internet" research I found it looked to be a common problem with my GE Profile gas range. Instead of having a GE tech come to the house like last time I decided to order the part and try to fix it myself. By the way, GE wanted $89.95 just to come out and troubleshoot the problem, parts and labor additional. I ordered my igniter and had overnight shipping for just over $100.00. The part arrived the next day and ten minutes later I had a working oven and everyone in the family was happy! I used one tool, a 1/4 inch nut driver. Easy unplugged the old part, plugged in new one. 

Replaced igniter 

Replaced it with a new assembly. 

I got on the internet and some helpful fellow on utube steered me to the heat glow plug/thermocouple. when it goes bad it doesn't allow the gas valve to open. Very easy to replace and probably saved a couple hundred bucks! 

Replaced the ignitor, had a similar problem as others trying to replace this part, one of the two screws holding the original ignitor to the oven would not come out, making the replacement difficult. 

Replaced glow igniter. The screws holding the igniter in place were the hardest part. One broke and the other was stripped so I had to cut it off. The new one was a perfect match. I used aluminum pop rivets instead of screws. I figure these will be easier in the future if this part goes out again. 

I was amazed at how quickly the part arrived via FedEx - ordered it Monday morning, arrived Tuesday afternoon the next day. I shut off the gas (shutoff on mine was behind bottom drawer) and cut the power to the stove at the breaker. After consulting the owner's manual, I removed oven door (necessary to slide out bottom panel), removed bottom panel (simply slides out toward you). Underneath that, I removed the 4 machine screws with 1/4 inch socket that holds the flame spreader. The igniter assembly is then visible and accessible. There are 2 screws holding it in place which I had heard were often stripped and difficult to remove. I thought, "Nah, won't happen to me." Well, it did. One, I was able to remove, the other took about 20 minutes to cut off and remove completely with an open-ended hacksaw, file, and pliers (could not fit a rotary tool in there to cut it off, of course). Next, was the big question of whether the wires would be long enough to pull through the hole to unclip the wire harness plug. I was relieved that they were in fact long enough, otherwise I would have had to pull the entire stove out from the wall and access from the back of the unit. Very quick and easy to reassemble with new igniter replacing the fine-threaded machine screws with coarse threaded machine screws. All in all, it took about an hour, but well worth it. Fixed it far faster and cheaper than calling for service and making an appointment. 

Looked up a similar problem and determined it was a faulty Igniter. I ordered another one online ("Appliance Parts Pros") and paid $94, which includes tax/SH. I installed in about 30 min. I was quoted $150 - $200 for a service call, so I saved some money. 

Googled the symptom. Identified the problem and replaced the igniter. The video on your site helped. And, from the time I ordered the part to receiving it was maybe a day. It was like Wile E Coyote ordering something from ACME to catch the Roadrunner. Ordered it and the part showed up nearly instantly.
