How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2059046 / WR2X7054 Dishwasher Push-On Nut

Watched the video, purchased parts. 

Access to parts needing replacement was accomplished by removal of the kick panel and lower face plate. Repair required removal of the solenoid assembly and drain valve actuator. The most difficult part of the procedure is cutting off the old compression nut to access the seal. You should have a good quality medium sized wire cutter for this purpose. Removal and replacement of the seal is straight forward paying attention to proper seal orientation. Reverse removal procedures to reinstall removed parts. Replaced Solenoid Assembly due to rusted armature and housing bracket. Successfully fixed leak. 

Replaced the seal and push nut to stop the leak. I was able to clean the rust off of the piston and solenoid so that it would open and close the drain flap properly. It hadn't been washing well, I think, because the drain flap wasn't closing and some of the water was draining out as it went through the wash cycle. After fixing the leak and cleaning the solenoid, the drain flap worked properly again and the dishwasher is now washing well again. The video was very helpful, but it was pretty easy to get to these parts on my GE Nautalis without pulling the whole dishwasher out. I just removed the bottom face plate. 

Replaced the shaft seal 

Put in small rubber seal which fixed the leak,took only about 3 minutes 

Repaired unit with new seal and push nut. 

Ordered necessary parts, (push on nut and new seal ) from Appliance Parts Pros at 1:30 pm and the parts were here 10:30 am the next day with standard shipping. Removed necessary parts, installed new seal and push on nut, replaced misc. parts. Leak problem repaired. 

Leak was occurring when the solonoid engaged to drain the tub. After researching, decided it was the the drain shaft seal. The repair video walks you through it you need the shaft seal and the metal retainer. Careful when you pop off the c clip. It went flying had to pull the washer out to find it otherwise can do the whole thing wit installed. Fixed the problem perfectly! 

I ordered shaft seal,push on nut and new impeller seal kit. 

Water leak was from a valve in the pump. A shafts extended through the housing and was leaking. Looked up parts breakdown, determined parts needed, ordered same and installed. No more leak.
