How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2633753 / WB1X500D Screws - 12 Pack

Changed heating elements. Bottom one was easy. Top one needed some gyrations to reach but was doable. 

Bought new baking element and part just went in easy! 

I turned off the circuit breaker for the oven first. Then, I removed two screws securing the element to the back wall of the oven. I then pulled the element out and removed the two screws securing the terminals. Then, I attached the new element to the terminals with the screws supplied with the new element. Next, I pushed the element into the back wall of the oven and replaced the two screws that hold it in place. Last, turn the circuit breaker back on and test it out! 

I bought an appliance part from this website. I was lucky that they carried the baking element for my stove that is over 25 years old. Swapping it out was easy and worked like brand new. Part arrive faster than expected. Would order from this company again. 

I called my local hardware store for the part, but it was out of stock and they could get it in 2 weeks. I Googled the part. Found AppliancePartsPros.com. Found my part. I ordered it and 3 days later, I’m baking in my 43-year-old oven. WIN WIN!!!!

Our GE oven is 42 years old, so the baking element to oven wires connection was not a plug-in. Screws (supplied with the new element, or you can reuse the existing ones) were required, and this added considerably to the difficulty of the job. As another user recommended, first remove the oven door. Just open the door partway and pull up. Remove the element panel and pull, exposing the wire connections. In order to protect against losing the wires through the exposed opening, I clipped them with clothespins. (I have a photo, but see no way to upload it.) I unscrewed the existing wire connections, then screwed in the connections between the new element and the oven wires. Reattached the element panel. Reattached the oven door by sliding it down. 

The replacement was easy and the oven now works like new. By the way, I was concerned about the big element getting here with no damage, but it was packed well and there were no issues with its condition. I would definitely deal with APP again. 

I recently replaced the baking element in the upper oven of my old GE Electric Range. The Range is approximately 40 years old and I was skeptical on whether I would be able to find a replacement.
