How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2633753 / WB1X500D Screws - 12 Pack

Ordered new one for the built in oven 40+ years old. I had replaced the broil element previously. Took the opportunity to clean oven after bake element was removed. 

I very easily entered the model number of my oven on this site. The element was in stock, it shipped fast. I did look at the video and wala issue resolved. 

Replacing the washer drain pump assembly and washer drive belt solved the problem. This is a straight forward job and the only wrinkle was the new assembly does not have a flange so it bolts directly to the bottom of the washer cabinet. In my case, it meant the exit tube was now about a 1/2 inch lower than the cabinet opening. So I had to bend back the cabinet about a 1/2" inch with large pliers so the exit hose would fit. Not a big deal but added sometime, otherwise, this is would have been around a 1/2 hr job. 

Ordered new bake element from AppliancePartsPros. Part showed up in a couple days. Replaced and tested OK. Another quality fix! 

Fairly easy to replace despite cramped working area inside oven. Removed old element, disconnected wires, connected new element and screwed new one into place. 

I was cooking and the bake element sparked and burned in my oven like a firework sparkler. So I researched and found Appliance Parts Pro. I called them the day after Christmas on a Thursday) and had my part here two days later. It took me about 15 minutes to repair. Couldn’t be happier! Saved me from having to buy a new range. 

Found correct element on Appliance Parts Pros, watched their how-to video on YouTube, and followed those instructions. Disconnected power to oven, removed anchoring screws, and gently pulled element out far enough to see the screws holding the power wires to the element. Took off screws (noting which wire went to which side of the element), placed new element in oven, and reattached wires to the element. Reinserted connectors back into insulated pocket and reattached anchoring screws with new ones I had ordered. Checked to ensure the element worked then had a cup of coffee to celebrate another repair completed. Total time was 15 minutes. 

I replaced the shorted-out element with the new element that I ordered from Appliance Parts Pros. 

Removed 2 nuts from element plate, lift and slid out.removed 2 nuts to remove 2 wires from element removed the element, reverse process to replace. The hardest part was getting myself far enough into the oven to reach. Removing the door would help. The GE element was a perfect fit. 

Relatively easy to pull out the old one and put in the new one. New bake element used different screw size than the old one for attaching it to the oven's wire connectors that supply the voltage to the bake element but thankfully the new one also included those 2 screws (new ones aren't hex head screws but use a straight screwdriver to screw them in). Used mini pliers to hold the back element wire connector while screwing in the screw that holds the oven wire connectors to it. Used 1/4 inch socket to remove the hex head screws that hold the plate at the back of the element to the back of the oven. I finally realized the plate has a smaller center plate in it that can rotate about 20 degrees or so allowing you to rotate the element up and out of the way to get a straight shot to the screws that hold that outer backplate to the oven. Without removing the oven door (which I didn't ) it's kind of awkward getting yourself positioned to reach back to remove or install it, depending on how long your arms are From the front side of the oven I leaned mostly along the door hinge and slightly into the oven to get my arms back far enough to see and remove the old one and put the new one in.
