How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP4538345 / WE1M825 Lint Screen Housing Seal

Replaced dryer drum bearing., lint screen housing seal and lint chute assembly. 

Replaced the dryer belt and all 4 drum guides! Works great and proud that I could do it by myself. Took longer as I cleaned the whole thing while I had the drum out. 

Took the dryer apart and found the old belt on the floor of the dryer. Immediately bought the belt and replaced. When replacing, wrap around drum first, install the drum, and squeeze hands through the space at the bottom with a light to tighten around the tensioner and pulley. See diagrams for belt routing. 

Belt broken replaced the belt, dryer still very noisy, so I watched videos on my dryer. I then replaced both front and rear bearings and slides per the video and a few foam seals. I put the dryer together and it works like a new dryer, Thanks to the videos on the dryer I was able to repair the dryer within a small amount of time. I just love this store very helpful parts as ordered extremely fast shipping.

I was doing a remodel and the dryer was moved out into a vacant room. The dryer was purchased in 2010. Now was a good time to take the drum out and check all the parts. The dryer was working all right but why wait for a breakdown. There was a lot of build-up of lint in the exit tube which in my case went vertical to the roof one floor. I vacuumed everywhere. Though the drum bearing was good I replaced the drum sleeve without replacing the bearing a much bigger job. I also replaced the four slides that the drum rides on and the drive belt. Now I feel confident it has many more years of trouble-free operation. The best help was the videos on the AppliancePartsPros.com site on how to replace parts. 

We replaced the seal, sliders, and rear drum bearing'. I thought there would be enough lint seal to do both. but it was 8in short. I had something that worked, but I bet more people don't. Very fast shipping and the videos were so much help. they really helped when some wiring came undone. thanks very much, it works great now. 

After watching the video I had a good idea of what the problem was so I took it apart and found what I think was the problem. It is a 2008 model and is working great except for the squeak so I decided to replace numerous parts to make it like new again. I was a little expensive to replace all of those parts but it is a lot cheaper than getting a new drier. I forgot to order a belt so I called them and they were able to add it to my order so I wouldn't have to pay extra shipping. The customer service was GREAT! My order arrived quickly. I have it back together and it is working great. 

I removed the front panel and replaced the Lower Drum Felt Seal and the Lint Screen Housing Seal.
