How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP7215773 / WD21X24901C Service Machine Control

Youtube videos helped a LOT. First determined the control board was bad as no power to the UI. Then when that was replaced, I then was able to determine the power was getting to the UI, but still no lights. A LED on the control board, from youtube video, told me no communication to UI. Replaced the UI board and done! Cost about $200 to fix, but less than a new dishwasher. Had to watch a few videos as my door was different than the videos shown but determined how to do mine by a combination of videos and experimentation. 

Because of my busy schedule, I went ahead and ordered both parts knowing of the excellent return policy. It took a while to actually find the root of the problem was actually located in the wall of the house. I only had power on one leg of outlet. The back of the wall socket had burned and fell apart (glad dishwasher stopped working, I would never have checked the inside the wall otherwise possibly aiding fire and burning down house) I had also called the helpline they are super knowledgeable I would recommend to everyone and will continue to order parts for my household repairs. After checking door latch switch and wiring, I replaced the control board. That fixed it. Diagnosis took about 45 mins, replacing the board maybe 20. 

I go to YouTube and put the information in and put the problem in …It came up with the control board. I watched several videos on how to fix the problem…I knew about AppliancePartsPros.com From working on a refrigerator that I fixed several years ago. I ordered the control board and it arrived in two days. So I got my tools and put the Control Board in using basic tools in a reasonable amount of time ( thirty minutes) and I started the dishwasher and it worked great I also talked with AppliancePartsPros.com. About 2 weeks ago my dishwasher wasn't starting so I did a hard reset and it fixed the issue for those 2 weeks then my issue came back and hard resets didn't work. I pulled down the control board behind the foot kick and noticed the control board did not have a green light. Ordered the part and replaced the part in about 15 minutes once I received it. I did continue to have issues with my start button not lighting up but it was an easy fix. Once I replaced the control board it put my dishwasher in demo mode so I held start and heated dry for 5 seconds and it is up and running. 

REPLACED CIRCUIT BOARD. 

I used the onboard diagnostics to figure out the control board was not acknowledging when the door was closed. I accessed the control board and noticed that the LED was not blinking when powered on. This indicates the control board has failed or power supply has failed. All the voltages were correct so I knew it was the control board. I replaced the board and all is well.
