Katie P Maylene , AL November 17, 2014 Black streaks on clothes This part was super easy to replace! The best part is no more black steaks on all my clothes, and my dryer is so quite now I can’t even tell its running. Delivery was super-fast too! I order this part on a Wednesday, the part shipped that same day and was at my door Friday afternoon. Robert Z Bridgton , ME July 31, 2020 Appliance: General Electric Electric Dryer DRB2455RAL Blown belt on dryer Replaced the belt a second time and this time replaced the bearings on the drum. Also, I felt the belt tension was too loose so I added an additional spring to the belt tensioner. The repair kit was missing a part, an "O" ring to hold the rear bearing to the pin. I purchased an "O" ring at my local hardware store. Also, a nut was provided in the kit to secure a spring piece to the rear bearing. The wrong type of nut was provided in the kit and I reused a part I removed from the original assembly. Last, the part for the rear bearing assembly was missing a slot that was on the original piece, so the clearance was off on the spring piece. This does not seem to be affecting operation. So far the dryer is up and running fine. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers, Socket Set
William C Glen , NH April 20, 2020 Appliance: Model DDE 5300GBL Dryer squeaking as it turned. Disassembled, 35 years of dust! Vacuumed out motor and casing, ordered rear bearing assembly, slide kit and new belt. Easy to install! Hardest part was connecting vent hose thru wall! Discovered vent hose full of lint, cleaned out. Will replace vent hose at my leisure. Parts arrived in a timely manner considering the "virus" slowdown. I'll have no problems if it runs another 35 years! Read More...
