How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP6032647 / WE14X25080 Lint Chute Assembly

That’s an easy 

I replaced the trap duct assembly (lower bulkhead) and the upper bearing. 

Replaced slide bearings.. 

Replaced identified items with replacement parts from AppliancePartsPros.com. 

Ordered new piece and replaced. Also watched the video you had online to replace it, very helpful. 

My dryer is about 20 years old but still worked fine except for the noise. I took it apart following the video and determined the fan needed replacement but also since it was 20 years old and I had replaced the front drum support and glide strips about a year ago decided to replace other parts that may have wear on them and fail soon, ie the rear drum bearing. I also had the duct assembly that was cracked, handle that had a retention tab broken, and burned out light bulb. Over all it cost me just under $180 in parts and about 2 hours total time. I used standard delivery ordered on a Sunday and had the parts on Thursday. I looked at several sites and the prices here were the best. 

I replaced the trap duct assembly, bearing slides. Watching the very helpful step by step videos on the website helped. I've never taken a dryer apart. This was my first. Thanks 

The plastic on the front panel/door of the dryer was old and had a number of cracks that was pulling strings and messing up clothing. On researching the issue I also found that the one of the bearing slides was also completely out of place. I replaced all the parts on the front panel/door to include the upper front bearing support, the 4 bearing slides in the support, and the lower trap duct assembly to correct the issue. I also ordered a new lint filter although it was not needed for the repair. While completing the repair I also reconnected the interior light wire which never worked to my knowledge but now it does. 

Looked at parts manual and video on what should be replaced and how to replace. Replaced front drum bearing lower front piece and plastic guides. Everything was just as stated and fixed the problem. Parts were ordered at 2:00 and arrived at 10:30 the next day. 

Had thought about replacing the dryer since it survived 4 teens and my wife and I. When the squeak started, I figured it was a bearing of some sort, and I treated it with silicone spray for a few months, but the spray lube only silenced it for a few minutes. Did some research on the web, ordered the parts from this site, and had them in two working days. Tear down was easy, parts fit perfect, and the dryer got a good internal cleaning as well. It is running silent as I type. That old dryer is like a faithful pet, and I hated to just throw it away. I guess I'm just sentimental. I do recommend taking your time, read up, and fix it yourself. We saved a lot of money by doing it ourselves.
