I had some guests staying at my condo when they called to say that my GE refrigerator was leaking and they couldn't stop it. Once I finally began troubleshooting I found several issues: 1) The plastic water line exiting the incoming water solenoid had cracked near the compressor where it gets hot. Once this was fixed, I heard dripping in the freezer indicating water flowing into the icemaker when it shouldn't be. I purchased a new Fill Valve and a coupler and they arrived quickly. Installed the valve and spliced the cracked line with a union connector and now all is well. The whole repair took about an hour.
