How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP3964635 / WH49X10042 Washer Agitator Coupler Kit

Using your site and my model number, I determined the parts I needed and ordered them. I also made use of the video on that same site to see what was needed and how to perform the needed repair. 

Purchased new agitator coupling, installed it and washer worked perfectly 

Took 5 minutes to unscrew the bolt and pop in a new one. Ordered part next day air from appliance parts pros and fixed it for my tenants in no time. 

Replaced agitator coupling . 

I am a tax CPA and have zero knowledge of appliance repair but with Covid lock down and washer not working, I went on internet found DIY site and then went to AppliancePartsPros. It had me enter serial number and then matched the part exactly to my washer. I fixed it for $18 ($10 was for fast shipping) would have been $200.00 or more to hire serviceman. WOW 

Replaced it 

Ordered Washer Agitator Coupler Kit. Ordered on Sunday, received on Tuesday. Wow, that was quick. My husband removed the necessary parts in the machine (easy) and quickly installed the new agitator. Put machine back together (again, quite fast) and now the washing machine is working great. Thank you for your quick delivery, informative video and helpfulness. 

After looking up the model number, with it not agitating, Appliance Parts Pros website took me right to the correct part. It shipped in a day and a half. When it arrived, I simply pulled the agitator up, as it is held in place by the plastic fingers. It pulls straight up, and exposes the coupler. Loosen up the bolt with a 7/16” socket. The new one comes with a new bolt; use the new bolt with the new coupling, as it has been redesigned. Snug up the bolt. Put the agitator back on, and push down until it snaps into place. Super easy!! 

Once I figured out the problem I watched the repair video, remove the agitator with the help of my son, ordered the parts. They were delivered within a week and my son fixed the machine in under 15 minutes. It’s working better than when we bought it. This is an awesome service/store. I would much rather repair than replace. I highly recommend this business!
