How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP5973786 / ABQ73503004 Drain Pump

Replaced with new pump. 

Checked drain tube, not blocked or water in it. So I guessed it might be the pump. Bought a new pump, installed in about 30 minutes and it works like a champ. 

Watched video on how to install the new drain pump. It seemed quite simple and to my surprise it was!!! I turned off the breaker, removed the kick-plate on the dishwasher, turned off the water supply, disconnected water supply and hose going to garbage disposal. Removed the mounting screws on the sides of the dishwasher. Pulled the DW out from the counter top and turned it on side. The pump was basically 2 clamps, 2 rubber brackets and a plastic plug for electric. I removed all on the old and installed the new one. Reassembled everything removed or turned off and put the DW back in the counter. Ran a short cycle to check for any leaks. The DW is as good as new!!!!

Unplug dishwasher. Remove kick plate with Phillips #2, remove dishwasher securing screws, slide dishwasher forward and tilt back to expose drain pump. Remove inlet and outlet hose clamps with pliers and remove hoses. Remove pump by releasing rubber retainers. Remove electrical connector by squeezing inward on retainers. Re-install in reverse order. 

Went to appliance parts pros web site typed in problem . Ordered part watched video easy fix. Hardest part of job was relevelling washer had to lower legs to get out of cabinet. 

Replace pump. Works great.
