How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP4438477 / 6615JB2005H Defrost Sensor Assembly

I had to change the defroster by removing the freezer back panel, used a dryer to defrost, and unplugging the defroster heating element and replaced it with the new one. 

This was a super-easy repair and saved me from having to buy a new frig! First, I replaced the defrost sensor since that was the cheaper part and I wasn't sure what was causing my LG frig to not hold a low enough temperature. The video on the site takes you step-by-step through the hardest part, which is disassembling the freezer doors to gain access to the sensor. Once you're there, you just plug in the new one. When that didn't fix the issue, I replaced the thermistor assembly. There was no video, but from reading other user's comments I was able to determine that you simply removed the back plate on the frig to access the compressor. From there, you just unsnap the old thermistor and plug in the new one. Takes about 10 minutes. 

Replaced the sensor and heater rod 

Followed there provided vido an replaced the part!! Know problem, however took about 2 hours to compete repair. 

Watched the video supplied by AppliancePartsPros.com and replaced the defrost thermistor/fuse that I purchased online. The entire project took about 2 hours and was relatively easy. 

Replacing the Defrost Sensor Fixed the ER-DH code. 

We replaced the Defrost Heater and some Sensors. 

I switched out the Defrost Sensor Assembly. After watching the video on AppliancePartsPros.com site I felt confident that I could do this myself. It all worked and it's been about 1 month now so fingers crossed that's that. It wasn't hard, but it was time-consuming. It took right about 2 hours from start to finish. A ton of little steps to get where I needed to be. 

The dh code came back after power was removed every time. I checked the voltage going to the heating element at the main control board after setting it to test the defrost system and had 118 volts ac I had either a bad heating element and/or the defrost element fuse/temperature sensor I ordered the fuse/sensor before taking apart the freezer to try I found that it was ok and at the same time checked the heater element and found it bad Put the freezer back together and ordered the defrost element Installed both the element and fuse/sensor and all is well with no faults Because your quick shipping of parts is why I tried the fuse/sensor first Thanks for the great stock of parts and very quick delivery of parts. 

Replaced sensor and heater. It appears to be working so far without an error. Still having issues that water doesn't work and the LED display is dim.
