How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP4439732 / 4986ER0004G Door Boot Seal

8 days before our Griswald Family Christmas And 5 days before 9 people started arriving, I get a panic call from my wife that the LG Tromm washer would not stop filling the drum with water, even after I tell her to pull the plug. Googled this common problem and Appliance Parts Pros came up. Not only did it tell you the correct part (cold water valve 4 outlets) but also showed a video of how to install it, which was dead on. Only thing I would add to the video is to tap the lid all around the outside with your fist to loosen it. Once I got that off just follow the video. 10 minutes at the most. I ordered the part at 3:30pm on Friday with expedited service, which usually means next business day which was Monday and that's cutting it close. To my surprise 10am Saturday the part arrived. Thanks Appliance Parts Pros and FedEx for saving Christmas. 

Replaced the washer door lock switch to resolve the error code. Also replaced the Door boot seal while I had the front gasket clamp off to access the door lock switch. Removed top of the unit, removed the front panel, removed the door removed balance weights. Removed rear gasket clamp to get door boot seal off. Removed and cleaned drain hoses. Replaced all parts and it worked like a champ. 

Replaced both bearings, seal and spider arm (mainly because it was disgusting and had rust at base of shaft). 

Replaced new washer gaaket

I reviewed several videos on the internet and followed the steps to replace the door boot seal. 

Replaced both bearings and seal. Also replaced tub and door seals at the same time. 

Took it apart and replaced all necessary parts. If you've got some mechanical experience and are good with your hands, no reason not to fix this yourself. 

Thanks to the extremely detailed videos that I found on the appliancepartspros.com site. It was easier than it would have been otherwise. I rebuilt our dryer a few years ago using the video and this vendor for parts. There were some complications as a result of the corrosion of the spider but the info made it possible to figure out the way to approach it. Thanks, Appliancepartspros.com 

Removed drum and housing. Unbolted housing and tapped drum from aft section. Knocked bearings and seal from Aft housing. Installed new bearing and seal. Watched YouTube video, really not that bad of a job.
