How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP4998888 / MDS47123601 Gasket

Ordered a new one from the appliance parts pros which arrived here in NH the next day. I watched the online video from there website only once,and proceeded to repair my LG washer on a friday afternoon. The process was pretty simple,except replacing the two metal bands that hold the gasket tight to the frame. Went through 4 band -aids from hitting my hand on the machine trying to get them conncected. In the end it was all worth it. Thank you for being there for us.Ron 

It was fairly obvious that a chunk of rubber had come out of the gasket. Ordered a new gasket and in a few hours I was back in business. And actually attaching the gasket was especially tedious. 

I took pictures as I disassembled the washing machine. I followed the video provided by AppliancePartsPros. It made the process pretty easy. The pictures and the videos provided excellent references. Remember to reinstall wires to drain pump before remounting the pump. Note the position of the different colored wires on the pump. The only frustrating moments of the reassemby was installing the inner and outer boot clamps. It took a couple of tries. The parts at AppliancePros were competitively priced and authentic LG OEM replacement parts. Be carefull with parts at really low prices on the big online stores. The customer service was excellent. The job is completed and I am very happy with the results.
