How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP4991598 / MEB41908101 Door Handle

Bought new handle and replaced it. The hardest part was getting the old pieces of broken handle off the screws and out of the mounting holes.

Looked into LG website to correctly identify the product number of each parts. Went through a video tutorial on You Tube how to install that. Ordered the product from Appliance parts website by entering exactly the product code I need for. It arrived in 10 days and it took 10 minutes to install. Simple. I would recommend to identify the correct part id and watch a video on YouTube before ordering. 

Prior to ordering a new handle from appliance parts pros I used a 2 part epoxy and super glue to repair the broken handle. After approx 1 year the handle broke again and I ordered a new handle. Fair price and arrived in 2 days. Wow. The replacement would have taken only 15-30 minutes if I had not glued the old handle. I had to machine the old broken stud out before I could replace with the new handle. Lesson learned. Get on appliancepartspros.com and order new part and they will link you to replacement instructions. It took me 11/2-2hrs to complete the repair due to me not knowing how easy it was to disassemble the microwave door and replace the handle. Thank you appliancepartspros.com. 

I ordered the replacement part, watched a video on you tube and was able to replace it really easily. I wasn't sure at first, but once the back started poping off, it was very easy. Looks like nothing ever happened! 

Putty knife an screwdriver. removed plastic plate from door. removed the broken part and reversed the process 

It was much easier than we thought to fix the handle! (With the help of googling a youtube). New handle fixed the situation! Thanks! Much cheaper than having to buy a new microwave!!!! 

Unscrewed the old one, and screw the new one. Very easy, thank you! 

Loosened panel around inside of door,removed two screws and replaced handle ,popped inside panel back on inside door,took less than 10 minutes.
