How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP5325806 / AEQ72909603 Ice Maker Assembly

I ordered the exact LG part from Appliance Parts Pros. It arrived promptly and undamaged. Getting the old part out was easy except for disconnecting the 10-pin electrical plug. With pliers and care not to damage the mating plug I got it loose. Everything else was easy by comparison. The new icemaker works perfectly! 

Replaced the ice maker.

After removing the bottom freezer door, that only took a few minutes, I removed the damaged ice maker and replaced it with the new one, ten minutes tops using a flathead screwdriver to pry the damaged one out after removing two Phillips head screws at the front ... easy peasy... 

I ordered a replacement. 

Replaced freezer basket drawer slides. Work perfect 

After doing some research I found that the ice make was bad. Replaced it works great now! 

Took out two screws in the front top of the freezer. Had to loosen screws on the airflow director to get the ice maker to slide into place. Plug in the connector then slide ice maker into the two slots in the back (it's snug) then lift it to the screw holes and screw it in and your down. Turn on the water. Turn on the ice maker and give it 12 hrs and you will start getting ice. Takes a few cycles to get the air out of the line.
