How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP5675948 / AEQ72910411 12 Cube Icemaker

Replaced ice maker. 7 screws, 2 pin connectors, 1 ground wire to attach 

Ordered new part with your help. 

Switched the old Ice maker out with a new one and it now works correctly. 

Ordering parts online was VERY problematic. I ordered the wrong part twice, costing a lot in shipping and returns. Appliance Parts Pros chat representative got me the right RMA form and the right part in one session. Repair itself was simple. Recommend watching YouTube videos AND taking pictures of your unit to ensure proper reinstall. Thanks!

I followed the Appliance Parts Pros video, which is excellent except for 1 step that (in my case) was omitted. After the new ice maker is installed, power restored and the ice maker button is pushed to the "On" position, also push the test button under the left side of the ice maker to engage ice making cycle. My new ice maker would not engage until I pushed the "Test" button. Comment: The new ice maker tray hinge pin appears to be made stronger and the unit is making ice perfectly. If you have hard water in your house, clean the calcium deposit from the ice maker water inlet with vinegar before installing the new unit. 

Ordered the replacement part, checked a UTube video on how to replace it, took 15 minutes and a screwdriver just like the website said. 

I replaced the ice maker assy. A rather easy installation on the LG refrigerator. The biggest issue was the harness routing to keep the assembly flush couple pieces of strapping tape did the trick. 

Everywhere I looked, it said to replace entire icemaker. I ordered it and it came in 2 days ,as promised. I looked on YouTube for info on the removal and installation. The new part came with a new ground wire and sensing bulb that was not addressed on the video. But that was not a problem. I now have a perfectly operating icemaker.
