Watched a repair video for my LG washing on youtube. The repair followed the steps as laid out in the video. I also replaced the seals and tub shocks while doing this repair. Freeing the inside tub shaft from the bearings and then the bearings from the outer tub required a fair bit of effort. To free the tub, I used penetrating oil, put a bolt into the spline and knocked it free using a heavier ball peen hammer. The bearings were a little easier. As the video says, I cleaned up all surfaces. To install the bearings, I first put the bearings in my freezer to shrink them a little and make installation easier. Reassembly was fairly strait forward. When I put the motor stator back on I had to use a longer bolt to pull the tub shaft splines home in the motor. I spent the better part of a good day to do this repair as I was very careful with the tub and bearings. I would recommend this repair to anyone with decent skills. My 10 year old washing machine just hums again!
