Michael T Sugar Hill , GA March 14, 2015 Appliance: LG Washer WM0642HW Cold water filling washer when power was off Replaced the water inlet values ( both hot and cold, since I was working on it ). The instructions from the video was extremely helpful and kept the time replacing the parts down to 15 to 20 minutes. One recommendation is to put a small amount of lubricant on nipple to allow the hose to easily slide into place. Be sure to follow all the safety procedures: i.e.: unplug power and turn off water and have a bucket to catch water when disconnecting the hoses. Wk M Thibodaux , LA September 03, 2015 Appliance: LG Washer WM0642HW Washer would get stuck on a rinse water constantly flowing no leaks but no wash either Found instructions and videos by searching online. Was not too difficult actually. Removed screws in the back that allowed lifting off the cover of the controls. I could see the valve assemblies and then it was just a matter of removing hoses and replacing. I was careful to note the hose locations to make sure they reattached to the correct port. Washer has been working since the replacement which was quite a relief given the cost of the washer initially. :-) Read More... 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Pliers, Screwdrivers

Tony A Oak Hill , VA January 06, 2022 Appliance: LG Washer WM0532HW Fe error on washer display was corrected new inlet valves. I went to the Appliance Parts Pros website to determine the cause of the Fe error on my LG front load clothes washer. The water was running continuously while the drum would not spin.. The website said this was most likely a failure of the hot or cold inlet valves. I ordered them both. They came quickly and used the helpful video to replace them. My model had a back/top-mounted control panel while the video showed a front-mounted control panel. Not an issue. very simple replacement and my wife immediately ran 3 or 4 loads with no issue. Thank you AppliancePartsPros... Earlier in 2021 I used your website to repair my Microwave. Turns out my GE (above the stove mounted) microwave has three door sensors. (two of one type and one of the other type). Appliance Parts Pros sent me more than I ordered which turned out to be a good idea. I replaced all three even though only one of the switches was faulty. (they provided details on how to determine if the switch was bad). It's hard to get good repair people to your house. Here are two examples of me being able to repair the appliances myself with your help. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Pliers, Screwdrivers
Daniel P Milford , CT December 06, 2021 Appliance: LG Washer WM0642HW The cold water wouldn't shut off when the normal cycle first filled. Also at one other point in the wash cycle and I was getting a fe error code. I changed the cold water inlet assembly which consists of four solenoids for the different parts of the detergent assembly. One for the detergent compartment, one for the pre-wash compartment, one for the softener compartment, and one for the bleach compartment. The detergent compartment solenoid was the one not shutting off. I watched several videos that showed the inlet assembly being replaced and mine was in a slightly different position the repair was similar. Being a licensed plumber this repair in my own home was pretty straightforward. I did take the opportunity to take a little more of the unit apart. I removed the detergent assembly completely out. I also removed the connector from the detergent assembly to the drum and cleaned out all of the old detergent and softener buildup from over the years. I believe this is what adds to some of the front loader smell. Put the new inlet assembly in and made all of the connections to the detergent assembly. I made sure to mark the hoses and where they went on the inlet assembly to make sure it went back together correctly. I also changed out the hot water inlet valve at the same time. Read More...
