How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP4341432 / DA97-06317A Refrigerator Water Filter Housing Assembly

I watched your video on youtube about how to replace the water filter housing on my Samsung refrigerator. You guys spent some time with me on the phone, to find the right parts. I received it within a week and I installed it by myself, easily. 

Watched the video on AppliancePartsPros.com. Ordered the parts from them after confirming the parts needed with the online chat feature. Ordered parts Monday evening and received them Wednesday. Wednesday evening I shut off my water supply and then used two adjustable wrenches to loosen the fitting. Used a Phillips head screwdriver to loosen the lower back panel. Had to pull off the line from the pump fitting. I removed the water feed line from the copper line fitting. With the lines free of obstructions, I went inside the refrigerator, removed the water filter, took off two screws and pulled out the housing unit. The new part went in very easily. I reversed the operation, screwing in the housing, attaching the lines, and securing the fittings. Before I pushed the fridge back, I tested the water line for leaks. It was all set. I was done in 30 minutes!! It cost me $70 for a Samsung part that would have cost $120 with shipping from Samsung. I didn't mention it earlier, but I had originally started to order the part from Samsung, but their website was glitching, and didn’t complete my purchase. How fortunate for me! I saved a lot of money. 

After removing the cover covering the compressor. The blue water line connector, with a Phillips, used a combination wrench to remove the collar off of the mount. The water connection is on a really flimsy frame that is easily bent, so you have to be careful not to exert too much downward pressure as you are unscrewing the collar. VERY IMPORTANT, save all connecting hardware, as there are none supplied in the parts kit. Unscrew the back cover to access the water line transition from back to front. White water line required 2 combination wrenches to uncouple. Again, VERY IMPORTANT, save all connecting hardware, as there are none supplied in the parts kit. There are videos that suggest trimming the hoses to fit. You don't have to, there is no slack to trim off. I actually had to adjust the run to get an additional 1/4 in to be able to connect the blue hose firmly to the connector. The white hose connection was the same. I had to adjust the water line to compensate. Kit worked as described. Watching the video helped regarding what to expect when doing the repair.

Review excellent video and then performed the repair myself. 

Pulled the frig out, and saw the problem. I got on the AppliancePartsPros.com site. I ordered/received the part in two days, and watched the video. I am female, 62, and very easy to fix, this repair by a repair man most likely would have been $300-400 

I purchased a kit from you. Watched a video on your website...a simple 1 hr job. 

As per your recommendation…ordered the water filter housing & tubes; moreover, your rep MATT on your site was spot-on…his step-by-step instructions made this “fairly” easy. FYI, I’m a “super” senior…I had just two problems: the refrigerator, due it’s weight, was very hard to move-out plus I was given the wrong connector/coupling for when you reach the final water hook-up. So, after going back, I was given the correct fittings…the final step was easy too. Kudos to MATT???? I WILL be recommending your company if the need arises. Thanks again. 

Replaced the water filter housing (revised) so we can still buy and use the updated Samsung filters. We followed the video on YouTube, which was very clear. Our biggest challenge was reconnecting the braided water line ( not a copper line as in the video). Took a trip to the hardware store to find what we needed to make the connection work. 

I followed the repair video and it was so easy! My repair was even easier than as shown in the repair video because I had a plastic compression fitting between the household water line and the old water filter housing. No tools needed for that part at all! I just needed a screwdriver for a few screws elsewhere and that was it. It's working like a champ again!
