How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP4341432 / DA97-06317A Refrigerator Water Filter Housing Assembly

I used the kit supplied by Appliance Parts Pros and watched the video on their site to install. It was very easy to do and my part arrived in just 2 days. 

We replaced the water filter housing and got the air out of the line. No more dripping. 

Looked at the Repair Video for replacing the Water Filter Housing for my Samsung refrigerator. The video clearly showed how easy the replacement was and how I wouldn't need to buy any additional tools to perform the replacement other than what I already have and am familiar with using. I received the replacement parts only a day after ordering them via regular delivery. I moved my refrigerator away from the wall to gain access to the front and back of the refrigerator, and completed removal of the old Water Filter Housing and installation of the new Water Filter Housing in about 30 minutes. The new housing worked as advertised, and I had freshly filtered water in about another 5 minutes after flushing the refrigerator water supply as suggested for filter changes. Quickly shut off the water to the fridge and then jumped on AppliancePartsPros. Found the exact part I needed and watched the video. I was thrown a bit of a curve when I found the line from the filter was fixed directly to the intake valve. On one of the forums, though, someone explained you can simply disconnect the old housing from the lines in the fridge, take the lines out of the new part, and install the new part. Easy fix! 

Replaced the water filter intake part. 

Wife called me at work to let me know we had a pool in our kitchen. Video chat showed water pouring out of bottom of fridge. I had her shut of the water and mop up the pool. Came home thinking why is an 8 year old fridge leaking? After almost 8 years, We had not put it in the fridge when we first got it as we have RO system so figured would not need filter. In Feb, I found the new filter that came with the fridge up in cupboard and figured I should go ahead and put it in as we paid for it and after all what could it hurt. Almost 6 months later I guess someone bumped something up against the filter in the back corner of the fridge and cracked the filter assembly at the head where the filter attaches. After pulling everything out of the fridge I placed a bucket under the area where the water filter attaches and turned on the water, sure enough that was it. I went online to AppliancePartsPros.com and not only found the part but the video on how to replace it. I am not a mechanic but after purchasing our home in 2012, have had to learn a lot of different repair work or end up paying through the nose to have someone come out. Needless to say, what I thought was going to be a $2000+ new labor day purchase ended up being an $83 (with shopping) fix.
