How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP4564724 / DC96-01700A Drain Pump Assembly

After diagnosising the problem, ordering the part, my 13 year old son and I watched a couple of how to videos. The procedure wasn't too complicated or hard. We had it put back together and trying it after about an hour and a half and lucky for us it functioned properly. Thanks A.P.P. 

Replaced drain pump. 

Bought a used Washing machine that was "Fine" - took it home and had a difficult time draining. ND error showed up later, but it definitely sounded like a drain pump issue. After some searching, I found Appliance parts pros, watched some videos and said "what the heck, I'll give it a try." Not being a very handy guy myself (at all), it took me a bit longer than I thought. Mostly to making sure everything was clean as I could make it before reassembly (it had been stored in a garage for a while). That being said, based on the videos online you're able to find and getting the right tools, this is a relatively easy fix. Make sure to note that different models of Samsungs may have slightly varied ways of repairs. I had to remove two screws on the bottom in order to remove the front panel. I was also not expecting to have to bust out my socket wrench set for this drain pump assembly. However, it really didn't take long to catch the changes. Fixed this for a little more than the cost of just having a Sears specialist come out to diagnose the problem. Will be using this website for any other appliance issues in the future. Thanks a ton 

Take drain cover off of front lower right corner, remove grey insert (2 screws) from drain access. (remove this only so you can see what your doing.) Tip the washer on its back and remove 2 bolts from the pump and it comes out through this hole on the bottom side!!! Watch these edges they are very sharp!!! I had an issue with a leak due to not having a hose clamp seated correctly, other than that takes less than 30 minutes and fixed our problem. 

After cleaning the black rubber drain hoses it still showed "nd" Thinking it was the drain pump motor I ordered and installed the drain pump but same error "nd". I had to pay $95 for an expert to diagnose the problem; he just advised me to buy the whole assembly drain pump which I did. Upon examining the old assembly I discovered the most common culprit of this problem-- a quarter coin was stucked in the white pvc drain inlet causing almost complete obstruction of the drain system. After installing the new whole assembly my washer was back to business. Thanks to your return policy I was able to return the first drain pump although I still have to see the refund reflected in my next credit card statement, excluding of course the shipping cost. If I was just diligent and patient enough to DIY I could have discovered the coin, cleaned the drainage system and reinstalled the original assembly and saved some money.

Replaced pump assembly and rear shocks, fairly simple repair did it in less than an hour.. 

I order the parts using your diagram pages worked great I would not pay fir 24 hour shiping though took 4 days to get my parts !
