How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP5651755 / DA97-07603B Refrigerator Ice Maker Assembly

I ended up just purchasing a replacement unit which fixed the problem. The unit was simple to put in and works like a charm. I paid for one day shipping and the part arrived within 24 hours. 

I ordered a new unit...ice maker assembly. It works and was super easy, Only problem getting in a good position on the floor to take the 2 screws out. It would have been much quicker and easier to remove the freezer door(I have a Samsung French door with the freezer on the bottom and the ice maker is in the bottom freezer). Also, your website Video on the removal and how to install the new ice maker was AWESOME, 

Replaced part, 10 minutes to remove and replace. 

Bought a new ice maker assembly.

Ordered a new ice maker from appliance parts pros. It showed up within a week. The job was easy, and only took about 20 minutes to replace. The longest part was removing all the food from the freezer to be able to pull the trays out to get to the icemaker. 

Ordered new Ice Maker from Appliance Parts Pros, and the part fit and works great. Replacement only took about 25 minutes. I will order again if I ever need more appliance parts. 

Removed flapper unit -3 screws-and slid new piece into slot. Trouble began with small plastic piece broke off bottom of flapper. Easy repair. Ice maker was not yielding ice-we were told by repair man that motor was shot and entire unit needed to be replaced. Quoted both items for $880! (half of price of 6 yr old appliance). Ordered both parts from Appliance Parts Pros for total of $230 with overnight delivery! Replaced door easily, reset present ice maker and produced ice within 24 hours. Now have ice maker we didn’t need to use but will save in case we need in future. Very efficient and knowledgeable employees with super quick response and service. Will call them in future for sure! Thanks so much. Oh - and Repair man quoted parts would take 14 days! 

Ordered new Ice Maker assembly kit and installed it myself. Very easy to install and the repair video from the website was very helpful. 

Watching the videos on youtube was the key to having the knowledge and where with all to tackle the job. I replaced the entire assembly but really only needed 1 part. Worked like a charm. It would be a good idea to be able to send the replaced assembly back to appliancepartspros.com. There are several sub-components that could be recycled. I'd be willing to pay a small fee to do so.
