How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP5651755 / DA97-07603B Refrigerator Ice Maker Assembly

The ice maker in my Samsung refrigerator (side by side with freezer on bottom) stopped working without warning. The reset button had no effect. All else in the fridge/freezer was working normally; no codes or anything either. I read some reviews that suggested unplugging to reset the ice maker. Tried that with no effect. Didn't seem like there was much else I could do. From what I can tell, it was either a shot motor or sensor. So I just decided to replace the whole ice maker. Expensive fix but easy as can be. There was just one extra thing I had to do to make the new one work. After installing the new ice maker, it didn't start up and the reset button wouldn't operate it either. It seemed as dead as the original, and my first thought was, "What a waste of $150." But then I remembered the "unplug" advice, which apparently resets something internally in the fridge. And sure enough, when I plugged it back in, the ice maker started working on its own. The fix is complete but just a heads up...it did require unplugging to get it operational. 

Https://www.appliancepartspros.com/ had a replacement and sent it fast! The install video showed me how and it was making s'cubes right away and I was a good spouse! 

Ordered the part from AppliancePartsPros.com. Watched YouTube videos first on how to remove freezer door, drawers and broken ice maker. Easily installed new ice maker - and replaced all parts.

Talked the problem over with Tracy at custom service. Great experience. He sent me the right parts. 

Took out the old one. Installed a new one. easy peasy. 

My Samsung ice maker was over-filling the cube tray. It would fill normally then a minute later would perform a "short fill"...sometimes a third fill...thereby overflowing the tray and causing the ice below to solidify into a huge mass of useless ice. Tracy from your company spent time with me on the phone diagnosing the issue and made the suggestion it may be the hall effect device in the ice maker itself. He then suggested that a new ice maker assembly would problem fix the problem based on his experience. I received the new maker way before it was expected, installed it (with help from one of your videos) and the thing works flawlessly now! Thanks, Tracy and AppliancePartsPros.com!! 

After watching the repair video on Appliance Parts Pro it took about 8 minutes to complete the repair. The part that took the longest was the door removal. Nothing hard just a little time consuming. Very simple repair. Parts were shipped out promptly for a Samsung Frig. Thanks, Appliance Pro. 

Purchased new ice maker thru Appliance Parts Pros and installed. 

I watched a video on the Appliance Parts Pros website and ordered a replacement Ice Maker on the same webpage. The ice maker replacement went exactly as described in the associated video. The new Ice Maker is working perfectly now!
